“Let someone else enjoy that ol’ rocking chair. I’m too busy rockin’ on some fun new adventures.”
— Don Boodel
Don Boodel’s story is a uniquely American one. Raised in an idyllic time in idyllic Evanston, Illinois, Don built lasting friendships and learned lifetime lessons. His father sank his life’s savings into an unproved fast food venture and entrusted young Don with his dream. Don sank his energy and ingenuity into making the business a success, growing it into eleven McDonald’s. His discipline and determination met daunting challenges, as his business employed tens of thousands, built a model charity that’s helped countless families in times of their greatest need, and became a key factor in helping bring Major League Baseball to Colorado. Along the way, Don’s loyalty and commitment to doing the right thing left a positive impression on family, friends, and even complete strangers.
